Active Fires Coming Soon

In the coming days the Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) cooler doors for the thermal sensor will open and we will be begin to process fire detections. As this data becomes available we will use this website to display detections, superimposed on corrected reflectance RGB (VIIRS bands 5, 4, 3) images, and begin evaluation of the data. We intend to use this site as portal for this evaluation to allow the user community to learn more about the calibration/validation process and offer insight to the products performance.
